Well, it's here, and I can hardly believe it. We're having our first meet & greet tonight from 6-7:30 p.m., and to say I'm stoked is an understatement.
My mood, though, doesn't seem to align with my weather app. It's not the most ideal day outside. To be more frank, it's quite dreary. Even as I type, the rain is falling steadily and the wind is picking up a bit. If it were any other day, I might be tempted to cancel plans and just lay low because no one wants to drive in this stuff (especially not around Norfolk).
BUT... today is a day we've been anticipating for months.
And as cheesy as it might sound, it feels like not much could rain on our parade. We've partnered with a local spot to host our event, Coalescence Coffee, and thankfully they have curated a bright, airy, and inviting space that is the absolute perfect retreat for a day like today.
It's thrilling to think that in just a few hours, that space will be filled with locals who have a heart for community initiatives like we do. We cannot wait to connect with all the folks who walk through the front door tonight. We hope to see many of you later this evening. We'll have some snacks and drinks on hand, and we'll take a few minutes to share more about the CCC's mission and vision.
As I've been preparing my talk for tonight, I keep stopping to reflect on how much knowledge and insight will be represented throughout the crowd. It's humbling. So many of you have been leading efforts to foster unity and resilience among Norfolk residents long before I ever relocated to the 757. And let me just say, I can't wait to hear from you, to learn from you. And more than that, we at the CCC cannot wait to partner with you.
